Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

- Who are you?

My name is Felicity, and I work out of my garage underneath my house, located on the outskirts of Brighton on the south east coast of the UK. I work full time as a potter/ceramic artist.

- What do you make?

I handmade make ceramic items, mainly mugs, but I also make, and not limited to, vases, plant pots, egg trays, and platters. I use a pottery wheel, but also hand build.

- What is your work made from?

I only use stoneware clay, as it is stronger, than earthenware, so it last longer and doesn’t chip as easily. I fire my work to 1200 - 1240 degrees centigrade.

- Are all your pieces the same?

Not at all. Most of my pieces are one offs, and the items I do make over and over again are never identical to each other, as due to the handmade process, there are likely to be small differences  and imperfections in each piece.

- Do you offer studio visits?

I’m afraid not. Mainly for safety reasons, but also my studio is often a whirlwind of mess, due to my highly messy creative process.You can however arrange to pick an item up from me and have a little peek.

- Why is your work priced this way? 

All my prices reflect materials used, skill, packaging costs and time taken to make.

Use and Care

- Can I use your items in the dishwasher or microwave?

Yes, all pieces are dishwasher proof, on the top shelf. However, to keep your items looking pristine and in the best possible condition I highly recommend you hand wash.

All items will be microwave safe as long as it has no form of metal on it. So if your item has a gold or silver lustre on it, it will not be microwave safe. It will say in the listing if it is MicroSafe or not.

- Are your items food safe?

Of course, as long as it has an item meant for food and drink it will be food safe.

Sale Items

- Why doesn’t it show the 20% off in the Sale section of your website?

All items in my sale section will have the 20% off added at checkout.

Payments

- What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major debit and credit cards including, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, ShopPay, Klarna and Clearpay. This can be selected during checkout.

- Can I pay over time?

Of course. I offer Klarna, Clearpay, Shop Pay and PayPal, which, if you are eligible, will offer payment plans over time. You can apply for this at checkout.

Delivery

- What are the shipping costs?

Packaging costs are included in my prices, and if you live in the UK so are the postage costs.

For overseas shipping costs, please note I do not make up the postage costs, they are based on Royal Mail prices for the weight and size.

- How long will it take to receive my order?

I normally go to the post office once a week, however, if I have a lot of orders, I will go more. If you need an item, buy a certain date, let me know and I'll see if there's anything I can do to get it to the post office sooner.

It normally takes 2 to 3 days to be delivered after it has been taken to the post office. International orders will obviously take longer and I cannot guarantee shipping times for those.

- How will my item be delivered?

I use Royal Mail and Evri, depending on size and weight of items, destination.

- Do you ship internationally?

I do. I can ship everywhere except the EU and Northern Ireland (due to GPSR regulations there).

Shipping will be calculated at checkout. Shipping costs for international packaging are based on the shipping companies costs. I have tried to keep it as low as possible.

I welcome orders from outside the UK, but please be aware that I can not be held accountable for the speed of the delivery, especially if there are any current delays to postal services, and customs costs. All items sent overseas will be tracked. If you wish to buy more than one item please contact me before purchase for combined postage costs. 

If postage details are not available for your country please contact me and I can work them out for you. Sometimes governments bring in new laws for postage to their countries, and this means that I may have to turn on or turn off shipping to that specific country. I apologise for this inconvenience, this is not ideal, and I would rather be able to ship to everywhere. It is for this reason. I cannot currently ship to Northern Ireland or the EU.

- How do you pack your work so it arrives in one piece, and is your packaging eco friendly?

All my packaging is made from paper. I occasionally use bubble wrap, but only if its been pre used. I use corrugated cardboard, biodegradable packing peanuts (which will biodegrade but also can be dissolved in water).

All items are packaged to protect the item inside, and I have very rarely had any breakages (touch wood).

Import Charges and Customs

All import or customs charges the responsibility of the purchaser. The tariffs that have just come in for the USA, are included in the delivery prices for now.

Returns

- I’m not happy with my order, what can you do about that?

If you receive something you are unhappy with please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to put it right.

- Do you accept returns or exchanges, and how do I return an item?

I do, as long as you contact me 14 days after the item has a been delivered, and I will give you the return address. All items returned must be received by me in the condition it was sent out as.

- Who pays for return postage?

I’m afraid I am unable to offer free returns, and so the return postage is the responsibility of the purchaser.

- Items damaged during shipping

It’s very rare an item will arrive damaged, as I take extra care to pack all items very well. However if an item does arrive broken, please contact me within 14 days of arrival and I will do what I can to make it right.

Customisation and Special Orders

I'm afraid at this time, I am unable to accept any customisations or special orders, and I am unable to accept commissions. All my work that is available is listed on my site.

Gift Wrapping and Gift Messages

I'm afraid I am unable to offer gift wrapping however I am able to include a gift message if you so wish. After you have placed your order, just contact me.

Kiln Hire

I normally do off a Kiln hire, however currently my Kiln is out of service. Check back soon to see when this has changed.
